Daylily Seedling Progression

DAYLILY SEEDLING PROGRESSION

Take a look at seedlings from seeds I planted last fall in 4-inch pots, through to a one-gallon pot for their first year of growth, through to the second year of growth in pots.

I hope the second-year seedlings will bloom this spring.

I will evaluate the plant and flowers and keep maybe 1 in 10 for a third year of evaluation if they measure up this year.

A progression in hybridizing daylilies.

The blooming season has just started and will continue into May-June. Extra-early blooms are gracing the garden right now. These varieties will bloom extra-early every year.

Some won’t bloom till June, the extra-late varieties here in Central Florida.
