ONE INGREDIENT MAKES A DIFFERENCE
Barbara and I were trying to replicate a recipe for a breakfast sandwich we enjoy at a local restaurant. It seemed we had figured out all the ingredients, having ordered this particular sandwich probably a dozen times over the past five years.
But, every time we tried making it at home, something wasn’t right. It was missing something.
A friend told us the missing ingredient was mayonnaise.
We tried it. He was right. Delicious.
It happened again last night as we made a one-dish meal for dinner. Barbara suggested adding sauteed onions. Perfect.
One ingredient can make a big difference.
A smile. A single kind word. A helpful gesture. A please or thank you. Small things can be transformational, can’t they?
