LEARNING TO RIDE A BIKE

The only way our sons or our grandchildren have learned to ride a bicycle is to get on it and ride.

It may be a big scary at first, wobbly, out of control, usure what to do, and a few falls. Kind of like learning how to walk earlier in life.

It may take training wheels or dad running alongside holding onto the seat. Encouraging words help during these early days of bike riding, don’t they?

The same was true in my early days of learning how to preach, how to play soccer, how to hybridize daylilies, … In fact, there are hundreds of examples of how awful we are at first with a new skill.
