A Child Laughing

Have you forgotten how to laugh? Many of us have.

I sure don’t laugh as much as I used to.

“Let the children’s laughter remind us how we used to be.” These are part of the lyrics of Whitney Houston’s song, Greatest Love of All.

She is right, isn’t she?

Two things.

First, what can you and I do to encourage children to laugh, to continue to laugh, to enjoy their lives, to be truly happy.

There is a lot that is working against children these days. Can you think of something you could do today to help a child to laugh?

Help some children laugh. Watch them laugh. May their laughter touch you deeply.

Second, laugh today yourself. Don’t go to sleep until you do. Remember what is like to laugh, like you did as a child. Savor a good laugh.

Find a YouTube video, watch a comedy on Netflix, or read a good joke.

Laugh. Really laugh. Let your laughing remind you of how you used to be. Recover something of that happy child in you. Nurture the joy that is still inside of you.
