GETTING READY FOR NEXT YEAR

The last week of the year is a good time to get ready for next year. At least that is what I have found in my life.

Some of my retired friends plan for their big adventures – perhaps a trip, extended times to spend with grandchildren, etc. They get out a calendar and block out those dates, so nothing else will have higher priority.

When I was a pastor, our church leaders would map out their objectives for the year related to our mission work, our worship, our youth ministries, building issues, finances, etc.

Personally, I make time to explore what I learned in the year wrapping up and apply those lessons to my plans for the year ahead.
