Two Who Were Losers

TWO WHO WERE LOSERS

Both George Washington and Abraham Lincoln were losers.

General Washington lost battle after battle in the American Revolution. The war itself was just about lost. But, he pushed on. He crossed the Potomac River in the middle of winter, gained momentum, and eventually won the war.

Abraham Lincoln lost election after election. He could have quit. But, he pushed on. He sharpened his skill. He continued to fight for the right, and won a critical election.

Where would you and I be if Washington and Lincoln had given in after all those defeats?

Life throws defeats at all of us. One after another.

What matters for me and for you is what we do after the string of defeats.
